By using HandymanCan ("we", "us", "our") at handymancan.org, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use HandymanCan. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. Accounts
You sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
3. Handyman Profiles
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your profile information, including license numbers, insurance details, and service descriptions.
- Published profiles are publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines.
- We reserve the right to remove or unpublish profiles that violate these Terms or contain misleading information.
4. Reviews
Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may not submit fake, misleading, or defamatory reviews. We may remove reviews that violate these guidelines. Once both parties have submitted reviews for a job, reviews are revealed simultaneously and cannot be edited.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit (profile text, photos, reviews). By posting content on HandymanCan, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on our platform for the purpose of operating the service.
6. Prohibited Conduct
- Impersonating another person or business
- Posting false or misleading information
- Scraping, crawling, or automated access beyond normal use
- Attempting to interfere with the platform's operation
- Using the platform for any unlawful purpose
7. No Endorsement
HandymanCan is a directory platform. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any handyman listed on our site. We do not verify licenses, insurance, or qualifications. Homeowners should independently verify credentials before hiring.
8. Limitation of Liability
HandymanCan is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, interactions between handymen and homeowners, or the quality of any services performed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to $100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HandymanCan from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account by contacting us. Upon termination, your profile and associated data will be removed.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of HandymanCan after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
